Gazetteer: Suusamyr Valley 
Coordinates: 42º11'41'' N, 73º15'03'' E  Alt: 2780m  to the south of Otmök.

Grass to 20cm tall. Ligule entire to 1mm long, Sheath auriculate with fringes of hairs. Inflorescence spicate brown.
Alpine grazed meadow on a North facing slope with Phlomis, Geranium, Poaceae and Papaver as dominant species.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.2, V. L. Komarov and Tsvelev 'Grasses of the Soviet Union'. Leaves flat, ligule membranous. Inflorescence dense, paniculate lookimg like a spike. Spikelet with one flower and two aborted ones. Lemmas deeply notched with awn inserted in the middle. Lower lemma awn twisted, shiny brown, upper lemma awn smaller. Awns exserted from the spikelet.
