Coordinates: 41º46'58'' N, 71º58'54'' E  Alt: 1515m  outside the buffer zone.

Herb to 1m tall. Leaves soft, grey-green. Flowers pale mauve attracting many butterflies and other insects. Corolla lobes with darker mauve markings inside. Stamens 4 exserted, anthers dark purple.
Stony ground on gorge bottom near stream.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.7, V. L. Komarov and Flora of China online ( Perennial rhizomatous herb. Leaves white tomentose. Leaves lanceolate, sessile. Verticillasters in cylindrical spikes 3-8cm long without bracts. Calyx campanulate, ovary glabrous. M.asiatica, M.vagans said to be closely related and doubtfully distinct from M.longifolia.
