Herb, 50cm tall. Leaves aromatic. Calyx dark purple, corolla purple. Inflorescence glandular.
Herbaceous community dominated by Prangos, Artemisia with Bupleurum, Chenopodiaceae, Centaurea along the track.
Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.7, V. L. Komarov. Subshrub with woody roots. Leaves rugose, bullate adaxially, white pubescent glandular abaxially. Leaves lanceolate evenly distributed on the stem. Cauline leaves smaller. Verticillasters 6-10 flowered. Flowers on crisp pubescent pedicels. Bracts ovate shorter than the calyx and purple. Calyx 2 lipped with orange glands. Corolla violet twice as long as the calyx. Staminal connective straight and longer than the filament arm. Part of S. nemorosa group.
