Gazetteer: 15km south of Kara-Buura Pass 
Coordinates: 42º04'01'' N, 71º35'37'' E  Alt: 2278m  after the bridge up the hill.


Cushion plant to 50cm in diameter with spiny leaves. Corolla bright pink to 10mm in diameter. Corolla lobes with darker pink central stripe. Pale yellow anthers at the mouth. Calyx papery and accrescent.
Stony hill with Ziziphora, Potentilla, Melica.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.18, V. L. Komarov. Rounded, compact cushion plant. Leaves to 15mm long, ciliate with short hairs. Leaves bright green, pungent with membranous sheath at base. Scape axillary at the base of each rosette to 4cm long. Each spikule with 1 flower. Outer bract shorter than inner bract (bracts 3) with a membranous margin and cuspidate. Calyx narrow to 14mm long, white with 10 purple veins. Flowers pink. style unfused with globular stigmas.
