Gazetteer: 15km south of Kara-Buura Pass 
Coordinates: 42º04'01'' N, 71º35'37'' E  Alt: 2278m  after the bridge up the hill.
25cm tall herb. Utricles mostly ergot infected.
Stony hill with Ziziphora, Potentilla, Melica.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.3, V. L. Komarov. Sect. lamprochlaenia. Long rhizomatous plant forming tufts. Culm to 30cm tall. Leaves rigid flat to 2-3mm broad. Spikes 3-5 the lower more distant. Bracts with long sheath and blade as long as the inflorescence. Terminal spikelets male or female below and male above, other female. Bract scales acute with hyaline margin. Utricle 3-4mm long, convex trigonous, yellowish brown with a long beak. Beak bidentate, emarginate. Style 3. Synonym C. nitida var. aspera
