Herb 15cm tall. Leaves grey-green. Calyx pale pink with black and white hairs. Corolla white and mauve. Keel mauve, banner and wings yellowish white plus mauve. Anthers dark orange.
Alpine exposed rocky hill at the top of the pass E to NE facing. With Astragalus, Pulsatilla, Silene, Allium.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.12, V. L. Komarov. Sect. hysophilus. Plant acaulescent with basal leaves but also with a few short stem. Leaves with 5-6 pairs of leaflets, appressed white hairy. Pubescence of '2-pronged' hairs. Stipules fused together. Flowers capitate on a long peduncle. Bracts ovate, acuminate. Banner purple-white, emarginate and veined, wings longer than the keel and cleft at apex. Keel white-purplish. Calyx inflated, covered in black hairs and white hairs. Calyx lobes short.
