Herb to 25cm tall. Flowers blue-mauve. Corolla hairy outside. Anthers blackish-purple, pollen white. Leaves aromatic.
Alpine mountain ridge with Polygonum (Bistorta), Dracocephalum, Rhodiola, Erigeron, Androsace, Sibbaldia, Poaceae.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.20, V. L. Komarov. Radical leaves long petiolate, blade orbicular as wide as long with rounded teeth. Flowers in a capitate and whorled inflorescence. Corolla purple to 30mm long. Anther thecae divergent. Calyx not conspicuously two-lipped.
