Herb to 20cm tall with thick taproot. Scapes ridged. Petals white above, purplish beneath. Schizocarps blackish-purple. Stylopodium dark purple-green.
Alpine mountain ridge with Polygonum (Bistorta), Dracocephalum, Rhodiola, Erigeron, Androsace, Sibbaldia, Poaceae.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.16, V. L. Komarov and Pimenov, M.G. (1937- ) The Umbelliferae of Kirghyzia Zontichnye (Umbelliferae) Kirgizii. Leaves bipinnatisect. Umbels with entire bracts. Bracts with a membranous and ciliate, scabrous margin . Calyx teeth short but not obsolete. Petals reddish-white notched and curved at apex. Stylopodium as broad as the schizocarp. Mericarps with 5 thickish, spongy ribs. Canals 3 per valleculae.
