Plant to 1.5m tall. Leaves imparipinnate with oblong leaflets, glaucous. Flowers in oblong capitate racemes. Inflorescence paniculate. Stamens long exserted. Flowers greenish-red with long white exserted stamens.
River bank with tall shrubs-trees of Betula, Berberis, Lonicera, Ribes, Salix. Also Ligularia, Rubus, Geum, Aegopodium.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.10, V. L. Komarov. Leaves mostly radical, long petiolate with 13-17 leaflets. Leaflets truncate at base, oblong to elliptic and toothed. Stem almost glabrous. Inflorescences drooping. Sepals green with a red tinge. Heads to 1.5-5.5cm long, flowering from base upwards. Filaments much longer than the sepals.
