Grass to 50cm tall growing in clumps. Culm hairy and covered with ciliate spikelets.
Roadside along a cliff with Artemisia, Nonnea.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.2, V. L. Komarov. Leaves, culm and sheath scabrous hairy. Spikelet pedicelllate and paniculate. Spikelet with several flowers. Glumes as long as the spikelet, lower one 2/3 as long as the upper one. Lemmas two-toothed at apex with many nerves and long ciliate all over. Terminal flower of the spikelet reduced and forming a club-shaped or roller-shaped glabrous appendage.
