Region: Jalal-Abad Oblast  Chatkal Rayon
Gazetteer: 15km south of Kara-Buura Pass 
Coordinates: 42º04'01'' N, 71º35'37'' E  Alt: 2278m  after the bridge up the hill.

Plants up to 50cm in height. Leaves pinnate. Capitula with pink tubular florets. Phyllaries appendaged.
Stony hill with Ziziphora, Acantholimon, Potentilla, Melica.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.28, V. L. Komarov. Erect plant, multistemmed from base. Stem ribbed, furrowed, cobweb hairy at the base. Leaves 1-2 times pinnate. Leaf segments narrow. Capitula solitary but in large branched panicle. Phyllaries in several rows, with short terminal yellow spine and a fringe of scabrous spine-like hairs on the margin. Phyllaries unbent outside and down. Inner phyllaries narrow and not appendaged. Florets all tubular pink-purple and all equal. Pappus shorter than cypsella, branched. Filaments hairy, style swollen below the stigmas, stigmas hairy at the base.
