Plant up to 1m tall but often shorter. Inflorescence lax. Flowers blue. Spur as long as the perianth segments. Upper 2 petals with a back spur. 2 Lower petals black with yellow hairs in the centre and white hairs on the margin. Carpels 4 hairy.
Scree with large rocks with Dracocephalum, Corydalis, Allium, Angelica W facing.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.7, V. L. Komarov. Sect. elatopsis. Perennial. Leaves dissected almost to base, evenly spaced on the stem. Limb of staminode deeply incised, with white ciliate margin and with yellowish hairs at the base of incision. Sepals pubescent.
