15-20cm tall. Growing between rocks and in the scree. Leaves glaucous, slightly succulent. Corolla pink. Stigmas 4 lobed, purple. Stamens many with white filaments. Capsule dark pink splitting from the top. Seeds with a hairy appendage.
in a large young morraine with Rosa, Salix, Tamarix, Erigeron and Poaceae.
Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.15, V. L. Komarov. Plant with fleshy rhizome. Leaves glabrous or sparsely pubescent adaxially, with inconspicuous venation. Leaf blade thick cuneate at both ends. Style glabrous, filaments dilated at base. Flowers large, violet-purple. Sepals narrower but same colour as the petals. Differ from C. angustifolium by the glabrous style. Syn. Epilobium latifolium L.
