Coordinates: 42º35'47'' N, 73º52'21'' E  Alt: 1401m  7.5 km south of Sosnovka.

10 cm tall sprawling herb. Leaves fleshy, dentate. Bracts spiny on the margin. Inflorescence terminal. Flowers purplish, bilabiate, hairy outside, to 2cm long.
dry hill, with scree and rocks along track with Eremerus, Rheum, Crambe.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.20, V. L. Komarov. Perennial with ascending stems. Leaves ovate, crenate denate and obtuse. Flowers in terminal verticillasters. Bracts ovate, with 4 lanceolate aristae to 4-5mm long on either side. Calyx two lipped, teeth divided to 1/3, sinus with a thick basal appendage. Calyx lobes acute and aristate. Corolla purplish-pink covered with white hairs and with a swollen tube. Calyx two lipped, teeth divided to 1/3, sinus with a thick basal appendage.
