Straggling glandular herb with large purple flowers. Leaves pinnate with serrate leaflets. Stipules large.
Alpine meadow dominated by Phlomis, Bistorta, Pedicularis, Papaver. SE facing slope.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.13, V. L. Komarov and Coles, S. et al. 'Identification aids for Cicer Taxa' Edinb. J. Bot. 55(2):243-265.1998. Leaves imparipinnate with 7-9 pairs of leaflets to 50mm long. Leaflets fan shaped, short petiolate, cuneate at base and truncate at apex to 9mm long. Sometimes terminal leaflet SL113d with an aristae. Plant strongly glandular pubescent. Peduncle to 20mm long. Wing with recurved lobe at base. Close to C. paucijugum, jacquemontii and microphyllum. All species are very close and only the leaves are used in the classifcation.
