Coordinates: 42º11'41'' N, 73º15'03'' E  Alt: 2780m  to the south of Otmök.

Small herb to 5cm tall. Leaves in a basal rosette. Scape without leaves. Florets yellow, phyllaries lanceolate.
Alpine grazed meadow on a North facing slope with Phlomis, Geranium, Poaceae and Papaver as dominant species.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.29, V. L. Komarov. Tribe Cichorioideae or Lactuceae. Rhizomatous plant without taproot but numerous thin roots. Scapes several from a basal leaf rosette. Leaves hairy glandular, lyre-shaped and pinnately parted. Phyllaries in two rows, outer row less numerous and 1/2 the length of inner row. Inner row with 4-8 phyllaries with scarious margin, glabrous inside, hairy outside. 8-10 florets per capitulum, all ligulate, 5 toothed at apex. Pappus with simple hairs not branched. Cypselas with 5-8 ribs, with small prickly hairs and a short beak. Receptacle glabrous and pitted.
