Tall aromatic herbaceous plant with basal rosette of leaves. Leaves 2-3 pinnate. Inflorescence compound very tall. Schizocarps with frilled wings.
Very dry South facing slope on conglomerate rocks with Eremurus, Celtis, Prangos, Centaurea, Alcea, Convolvulus.
Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.16, V. L. Komarov and Pimenov, M.G. (1937- ) The Umbelliferae of Kirghyzia Zontichnye (Umbelliferae) Kirgizii. Leaves 4-5 pinnate, lobes narrow and pointed. Umbel twice compound with bracts and bracteoles. Flowers with large lobed stylopodium. Style not seen. Sepals conspicuous. Filaments curved under the white petals. Schizocarp with 5 winged ribs, valleculae (between the ribs) smooth but with numerous canals. Each wing of the mericarps has a spongy pericarp at base. Wings are undulant. Seed albumen furrowed, crescent shaped. Close to P. uloptera now synonym of P. lipskyi.
