Woody herb branched at base. Leaves palmately and pinnately lobed. Leaves with spines in the axil. Flowers in verticillasters at end of branches. Calyx to 3cm long divided half way, lobes oblong. Corolla white slightly longer than the calyx. Upper lip bearded, lower lip three lobed with purple veins. Nutlets unripe.
Alpine meadow dominated by Artemisia dracunculus on loose scree with Linaria transiliensis.
Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.21, V. L. Komarov. Aromatic plant. Leaves bipinnate, with a rhomboid outline, glabrous and with sessile glands. Stem square, white with spines in axil of the leaves. Calyx campanulate slightly oblique at base, glabrous, the teeth longer than the tube. Corolla upper lip cleft with a dense ciliate fringe. Lower lip three lobed, deeply notched, the middle lobe cut into two ovate lobes. Anthers with hairy connective. Lower stamens shorter than upper stamens. Plant drying blue.
