Branched herb with swollen nodes. Leaves linear needle like. Inflorescence large paniculate. Flowers white with 5 petals turning pinkish. Style one, stigmas globular, stamens 5.
Herbaceous community dominated by Prangos, Artemisia with Bupleurum, Chenopodiaceae, Centaurea.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.6, V. L. Komarov and Lazkov, G. A. Family Caryophyllaceae in Kyrgyzstan Semeistco gvozdchnye vo flore Kyrgystana. Leaves opposite with swollen nodes. Leaves subulate, flat and spinescent. Inflorescence loose paniculate, corymbose. Calyx with fused sepals not inflated and without commissural veins but a membranous margin between each lobe. Flowers with two bracts at base. Petals white pinkish at the base twice as long as the calyx. Calyx 2mm long, lobes obtuse. Lateral pedicel of dichasia (of three flowers) 3-5mm long. Synonym Allochrusa gypsophiloides (Regel) Schischk.
