Creeping woody herb on bare soil. Leaves lobed to base with revolute margins. Inflorescence terminal, bracts leaf like. Calyx tubular with lobes as long as the tube. Corolla pink-violet, hairy outside. Stamens 4, anthers in the same plane. Nutlets 4, glabrous elongated.
Herbaceous community dominated by Prangos, Artemisia with Bupleurum, Chenopodiaceae, Centaurea. In bare patches.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.21, V. L. Komarov. Leaves pinnate to base. Flowers in terminal verticillaster. Bracts denate with aristae. Calyx 2 lobed, hairy and with golden sessile glands cut to 1/4-1/3. Calyx lobes ending in an awn. Variable species in regard to the hairiness, calyx lobes and leaf divisions.
