Plant growing along the road in the scree. Taproot very strong, stem to 20-30cm tall. Basal leaves ovate, aromatic. Bracts leaf-like with serrate margin. Flowers purple to 2cm long. Lower corolla lip with purple spots. Calyx purple veined, lobed 1/4 to the length of the tube. Nutlets oblong.
Scree with large rocks with Rheum, Delphinium, Allium, Angelica W facing.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.20, V. L. Komarov. Radical leaves long petiolate, blade orbicular as wide as long with rounded teeth. Flowers in a capitate and whorled inflorescence. Corolla purple to 30mm long. Anther thecae divergent. Calyx not conspicuously two-lipped.
