Large plant with leaves flat on the loose scree. Ocrea sheath-like and hidden underground at base of petiole. Leaf very coriaceous, bullate with strong red venation and long red petiole. Scape unbranched or only at base to 10-30cm tall. Nutlets three-winged, bright red-purple and numerous. Tepals white, 6, stamens 6, style three branched, stigmas bilobed.
Scree with large rocks with Dracocephalum, Delphinium, Allium, Angelica W facing.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.5, V. L. Komarov. Scape unbranched or very little. Leave ovate, reticulate rugose abaxially, acute at apex with red veins. Nutlets broadly winged and trigonous.
