Coordinates: 42º25'58'' N, 71º33'53'' E  Alt: 1365m  camping site along the road.

Bush to 2-3m tall. Stems with prickles flared at base and thin at apex. Leaves 6 foliolate. Leaflets glaucous, 1 serrate, small. Flowers white to 2cm across, scented. Stigmas slightly exserted but shorter than the stamens. Hypanthium glabrous, globular, calyx entire and deciduous. Pometum red, fleshy or dry. Achenes glabrous.
Heavily grazed flat meadow along the river with Convolvulus and Poaceae.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora of the USSR. Vol.10, V. L. Komarov. Stipules entire, adnate to the petiole and glandular ciliate. Prickles curved. Flowers in a corymb with bracts. Sepals entire, triangular and hairy. Pometum red, soft with sepals, stamens falling off when ripe. Styles adnate together and slightly exserted but not fused together in a column.
