Location:San Luis Potosi, Cerro de San Miguelito, above Privadas de Pedregal.
Coordinates: 22°05'06" N, 101°00'01" W Alt: 2351m

Shrub, 1 m tall, 2.5m spread. Bark shiny reddish brown, branches contorted. Leaves erect. Flowers white with pink tinged corolla lobes and calyx
Quercus woodland (encino), canopy 3-4 m tall, with Dasylirion, Arctostaphylos and Salvia. Geology: igneous rock. NW-facing slope.

Identification Notes: Verified with Luteyn, J. L. 1995 'Ericaceae Part II. The superior-ovaried genera' Flora Neotropica Monograph 66: 365-383. Leaves vertically oriented, unifacial. Flowers racemose, paniculate and terminal. Flowers urceolate, 5-merous. Filaments ciliate and dilated at base, anther with long basal appendages.
