Location:San Luis Potosi, Cerro de San Miguelito, above Privadas de Pedregal. Canada de Lobos.
Coordinates: 22°05'34" N, 100°00'18" W Alt: 2250m

Tuberous herb, stems purple-tinged. Inflorescence bracts green with white-toothed apex. Anthers yellow.
Disturbed sandy area grazed by horses and donkeys. Geology: igneous rock. Open area with Poaceae.

Identification Notes: Verified with Rzedwoski, G.C. & J. 2001 'Flora fanerogamica del Valle de Mexico'. Leaves opposite, symetrical lacking stipules. Leaves linear and entire. Cyathia solitary, glands 5, white and with a brown petaloid appendage at base. Ovary and capsule glabrous.
