Location:San Luis Potosi, Cerro de San Miguelito, above Privadas de Pedregal. Canada de Lobos.
Coordinates: 22°05'50" N, 101°00'32" W Alt: 2230m

Shrub 2 m tall, shaped by grazing. Flowers purple, yellow and white. Standard yellow at base, white at apex. Lip and wings purple. Stamens orange. Calyx pinkish with light green lobes.
Disturbed sandy area grazed by horses and donkeys. Geology: igneous rock. Open area with Poaceae. Rocky SW-facing slope 20º. Growing within shelter of Opuntia.

Identification Notes: Verified with Calderon, G. & Rzedowski, J. 2001 'Flora fanerogamica del Valle de Mexico'. Flowers sessile in a lax spike >2 cm long. Calyx lobes longer than wide, lanceolate acuminate. Stems verrucose. Leaves pubescent.
