Location:San Luis Potosi. On Route 70 from San Luis Potosi to Rio Verde. On the north side of the road.
Coordinates: 22°03'55" N, 100°36'46" W Alt: 2238m

Upright, spiny shrub 6 m tall, with branches spreading 3 m. Flowers white, unpleasant smelling. Nectary glands greenish yellow becoming dark pink.
Quercus mexicana woodland with Rhus and Crataegus.

Identification Notes: Verified with W. W. Eggleston 'The Crataegi of Mexico and Central America' Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club, Vol. 36, No. 9. 1909, pp. 501-514. Styles 3-5, stamens 15-18, corymbs tomentose. Sepals with serrate, glandular margin.
