Coordinates: 21°24'53" N, 99°07'45" W Alt: 2129m

Small herb. Stems and petioles purple or purple tinged. Flowers bright yellow. Thick, tuberous taproot smells strongly of carrot when cut.
Pinus forest with Pinus gregii, Arbutus xalapensis, Cupressus lusitanica, Rhus aromatica, Litsea glaucescens, Quercus obtusata, Q. affinis, Cornus, Aphananthe. Growing in a clearing, under Pinus with Asteraceae.

Identification Notes: Verified with Calderon, G. & Rzedowski, J. 2001 'Flora fanerogamica del Valle de Mexico'. Leaves mostly basal. Leaves once pinate with oblong leaflets. Leaflets margin crenate. Inflorescence compound, bracts lacking but a few bracteoles present. Flowers mostly male? with a conpsicuous lobed stylopodium. Corolla yellow.
