Location:Queretaro, Lagunita de San Diego.
Coordinates: 21°24'59" N, 99°07'45" W Alt: 2141m

Erect herb 30 cm tall. Stems red-tinged. Styles red.
Pinus forest with Pinus gregii, Arbutus xalapensis, Cupressus lusitanica, Rhus aromatica, Litsea glaucescens, Quercus obtusata, Q. affinis, Cornus, Aphananthe. Growing in a dry, rocky gully near spring (spring with built-up wall).

Identification Notes: Verified with Acalypha Taxonomic information system ( http://www.acalypha.es/ ). Stems densely covered with long hairs. Spikes terminal, sparse to dense, pistillate below and staminate above, often conspicuously red in flower because of the stigmas and the staminate bracts. Capsule hispid mainly near the apex. Seeds brown or yellowish, smooth.
