Coordinates: 21°24'31" N, 99°07'51" W Alt: 2169m

Clump forming bromeliad, clumps 1 m across. Inflorescence erect, 50 cm tall, scape orange with white floccose hairs. Flowers orange pink. Anthers yellow. Stigma red.
Pinus forest with Pinus gregii, Arbutus xalapensis, Cupressus lusitanica, Rhus aromatica, Litsea glaucescens, Quercus obtusata, Q. affinis, Cornus, Aphananthe. Growing on rock outcrop with Vesalea grandifolia and Agave.

Identification Notes: Verified with McVaugh, R. (1989) Flora Novo-Galiciana 15. Corolla twisted. Leaves dimorphic, small linear serrate-spiny blades and large entire foliaceous blades. Adaxial sepals not winged dorsally.
