Location:Puebla, Mpio Soltepec, between Acatzingo and San Salvador El Seco.
Coordinates: 19°04'03" N, 97°41'39" W Alt: 2377m

Geophyte 12 cm tall. Corm brown outside, white inside. Flowers yellow. Tepals yellow inside, greenish or with central green stripe outside. Stamens and anthers yellow.
Pine forest with Pinus orizabensis, Quercus and Cupressus. Growing in clearings with Poaceae.

Identification Notes: Verified with Brackett, A. (1923) Revision of the American species of Hypoxis, in Rhodora. 25: 120-147. Corm globose, covered with dense fibres. Inflorescence 1-few flowered. Ovary, peduncle and leaves pilose.
