Location:Puebla, Mpio Tepeyahualco, Laguna de Alchichica.
Coordinates: 19°24'26" N, 97°23'54" W Alt: 2325m

Rush 10 cm tall with creeping rhizome. Tepals dark brown. Anthers pale yellow. Stigmas and ovary pink.
Salt lake marginal habitat, grazed by sheep and goats. Growing with Ranunculus in short grazed turf at salt lake edge, 1 m from water.

Identification Notes: Verified with Kirschner, J. (2002) Species plantarum : flora of the world. Part 8, Juncaceae. 3, Juncus subg. Agathryon. Section Juncotypus. Stems inconspicuously irregularly striate when dry.Stamens 6, anthers ca. 2x as long as filaments.
