Coordinates: 19°24'27" N, 97°24'01" W Alt: 2335m

Spiny shrub 1 m tall and spread. Stems green. Flowers white. Fruits red. three lobed.
NW facing slope with Opuntia, Agave and Poaceae. 25º slope.

Identification Notes: Verified with Calderon, G. & Rzedowski, J. 2001 'Flora fanerogamica del Valle de Mexico'. Stem spiny at apex. Leaves deciduous with fleshy red stipules at base. Stamens opposite and enclosed in the spathulate white petals. Sepals larger and concolorous. Ovary 3 locular, reddish in fruit. Capsule dehiscent at maturity. Monospecific genus
