Location:Veracruz, Mpio Perote, Tepeyahualco, km 97 on the Autopista from Puebla to Jalapa.
Coordinates: 19°32'14" N, 97°22'42" W Alt: 2414m

Shrub 1.6 m height and spread. Bark blackish-brown. Inflorescence white pubescent. Flowers white with 4 corolla lobes. Dried capsules from previous season still attached.
Old volcanic lava flow with ?Nolina, Agave, Opuntia, Hechtia and Mammillaria. Growing in a sheltered hole in the rocks with Poaceae, Lamiaceae and Hechtia.

Identification Notes: Verified with Rzedowski, G. C. de y J. Rzedowski, 2001. Flora fanerogámica del Valle de México. 2 ed. Leaves densely stellate pubescent abaxially. Inflorescence paniculate. flowers white 4-merous.
