Location:Veracruz, Mpio Perote, Tepeyahualco, km 97 on the Autopista from Puebla to Jalapa.
Coordinates: 19°32'14" N, 97°22'42" W Alt: 2414m

Spiny rosette succulent with scape 120 cm tall. Rosettes forming a clump 50 cm across. Foliage 30 cm tall, grey-green, spiny. Flower pale yellow-green, filaments white, pollen yellow.
Old volcanic lava flow with ?Nolina, Agave, Opuntia, Hechtia and Mammillaria. Growing in a crevice in the rocks.

Identification Notes: Verified with Flora Neotropica, Vol. 14, No. 1, Pitcairnioideae (Bromeliaceae) & Flora de Veracruz 136 (2005). Flowers male. Pedicels swollen with vestigial ovary. Floral bracts shorter than pedicels. Inflorescence erect, dense.
