Location:Veracruz, Mpio Calcahualco, Barranco de San Miguel, Tlacotiopa.
Coordinates: 19°06'28" N, 97°12'07" W Alt: 2642m

Erect shrub 4 m tall, spreading 3 m. Leaves aromatic when crushed. In fruit, fruits ripening from green to shiny grey-black. Young stems tinged pink with sticky glandular hairs, young leaves also sticky.
Stream gorge with Pinus and Quercus forest. NE facing side of the gorge. Open area with Viburnum, Sambucus, Solanum, Ferns and Alchemilla.

Identification Notes: Verified with Durán-Espinosa, C. (2001) Flora of Veracruz 122, Grossulariaceae. Leaves and pedicels with simple and glandular hairs.
