Location:Veracruz, Mpio Calcahualco, Barranco de San Miguel, Tlacotiopa.
Coordinates: 19°06'28" N, 97°12'07" W Alt: 2642m

Erect, multistemmed shrub 1 m height and spread. Flowers bright pink, pendent. Anthers and stigma white. Ripe fruits shiny black.
Stream gorge with Pinus and Quercus forest. NE facing side of the gorge. Open area with Viburnum, Sambucus, Solanum, Ferns and Alchemilla.

Identification Notes: Verified with Breedlove, D.E. 1969 'The Systematics of Fuchsia section Encliandra' Univ. Calif. Publ. Bot. 53:1-69. Sect. Encliandra (antipetalous stamens reflexed into hypanthium and included). Flowers bisexual. Hypanthium reddish-purple, cylindrical. Leaves coarsely dentate.
