Location:Veracruz, Mpio Calcahualco, Barranco de San Miguel, Tlacotiopa.
Coordinates: 19°06'31" N, 97°12'08" W Alt: 2657m

Shrub, 50 cm height and spread. Young stems, inflorescence and flowers pink. Flowers pendent. Young stems and leaves are red-pubescent.
Stream gorge with Pinus and Quercus forest. NE facing side of the gorge. Shaded, mossy bank beside path with Fragaria and Oenothera.

Identification Notes: Verified with Luteyn, J. L. 1995 'Ericaceae Part II. The superior-ovaried genera' Flora Neotropica Monograph 66: 365-383. Stem reddish setose. Flowers racemose terminal with reddish bracts. Flowers urceolate, white hairy. Anther with apical appendages. Fruit capsular.
