Location:Jalisco, NNW of Bolaños.
Coordinates: 22°12'13" N, 103°52'59" W Alt: 2347m

Upright shrub 4 m tall. Flowers white. Inflorescence rachis pinkish.
Open Quercus and Pinus forest with Pinus lumholtzii, Quercus radiata, Arctostaphylos pungens, Arbutus madrensis and Arbutus tessellata. Growing in a dry stream gully.

Identification Notes: Verified with Sleumer, H. O. 1967 'Monographia Clethracearum' Bot. Jahrb. Syst. 87(1): 36-116; 87(2): 117-175. Section Cuellaria ser. Tomentellae. Leaves densely grey stellate tomentose abaxially. Inflorescence simple raceme, pendulous. Rachis ferrugineous hairy. Petals sligthly ciliate apically.
