Psittacanthus macrantherus Eichler

Location:Jalisco, NNW of Bolaños.
Coordinates: 22°10'24" N, 103°53'27" W Alt: 2556m

Large, clump-forming parasite 50 x 50 cm. Flowers orange. Tepals recurving. Stigma and style red.
Open Quercus and Pinus forest with Pinus lumholtzii, Quercus radiata, Arctostaphylos pungens, Arbutus madrensis and Arbutus tessellata. Growing on Pinus Lumholtzii at 4 m high.

Identification Notes: Verified with Kuijt, J. 2009 'Monoraph of Psittacanthus (Loranthaceae)' Syst. Bot. Monographs 86. Flowers triadic (in three's). Flower buds massive and fleshy. Anthers to 7mm long.
