Location:Jalisco, NNW of Bolaños.
Coordinates: 22°10'32" N, 103°53'45" W Alt: 2493m

Shrub 60 cm tall. Stems erect. Flowers pale pink.
Open Quercus and Pinus forest with Pinus lumholtzii, Quercus radiata, Juniperus durangensis, Arctostaphylos pungens, Arbutus madrensis and Arbutus tessellata. Growing at the top of a N-facing slope with Quercus viminea and Quercus sp. Large patch 15 x 5 m.

Identification Notes: Verified with Luteyn, J. L. 1995 'Ericaceae Part II. The superior-ovaried genera' Flora Neotropica Monograph 66: 365-383. Leaves terminal whorled, lanceolate, entire and with recurved margin. Inflorescence simple terminal raceme. Flowers urceolate. Filaments ciliate and filated at base. Ovary sparsely hairy becoming black and fleshy in fruit.
