Location:Jalisco, NNW of Bolaños.
Coordinates: 21°54'57" N, 103°52'14" W Alt: 2478m

Erect shrub 1.5 m tall. Flowers dark blue. Calyces lime green. Stamens white.
Edge of Quercus and Pinus forest. Growing in disturbed soil by roadside.

Identification Notes: Verified with M. Epling, C. 1939 'A revision of Salvia subgenus Calosphace' Fedde Repert Sp. Nov. Beih. 110:1-388. Subgenus Calosphace, section Angulatae. Leaves densely glandular and hirsute abaxially, cuneate at base. Inflorescence branched of verticillate spikes. Upper calyx lobe three veined. Sepals lime-green. Corolla tube to 14mm long, dark blue and glabrous inside with two short scales at base of constriction. Style hairy apically, stigmatic branches unequal lower one short and acute. Nectary scale much longer than nutlets. Nutlets on a short glandular gynophore.
