Coordinates: 23°39'33" N, 105°44'20" W Alt: 2502m

Shrub 2 m tall. Leaves and stems viscid, aromatic. Flowers red.
Open Pinus and Quercus forest. Growing beside dry stream bed in part shade.

Identification Notes: Verified M. Epling, C. 1939 'A revision of Salvia subgenus Calosphace' Fedde Repert Sp. Nov. Beih. 110:1-388. Subgenus Calosphace, Section brandegia. Leaves and stems glandular hairy. Calyx upper lobe 3-5 veined. Corolla pubescent, tube without scales or invagination at the base. Style hairy with unequal stigmatic branches. Close to S. fulgens but corolla tube without scales.
