Location:Durango, Espinazo del Diablo.
Coordinates: 23°39'33" N, 105°44'20" W Alt: 2502m

Herb. Flowers pink. Phyllaries purple tinged. Leaves aromatic when crushed.
Open Pinus and Quercus forest. Growing in stream on rocks in full sun.

Identification Notes: Verified with McVaugh, R. Compositae. Flora Novo-Galiciana 12: 1-1157. 1984. tribe Eupatorieae. Semi woody plant. Leaves alternate, dissected and glabrescent. Capitula solitary on long peduncle. Phyllaries in several rows broadly acute outside, lanceolate inside. Florets all tubular, exserted and pinkish. Anthers producing little pollen, stigmas long exserted, glabrous and spathulate. Cypsela obscurely 5-angled and strigose. Pappus of 5 barbed erect awns with few very small intervening scales. Receptacle flat, glabrous and without scales. Very close and possibly intergrading with H. urenifolia var. urenifolia.
