Location:Durango, Espinazo del Diablo.
Coordinates: 23°39'33" N, 105°44'20" W Alt: 2502m

Fleshy herb. Stems pink-tinged. Flowers pale pink. Calyx dark pink. Upper lip of corolla with purple stripes and markings, yellow-green at base inside. Stigma white. Anther purple.
Open Pinus and Quercus forest. Growing at stream edge on rocks in full sun.

Identification Notes: Verified with Plitmann, U. et al. 1973 'The Systematics of Lopezieae' Ann. Mis. Bot. Gard. 60:478-563. Section Pelozia. Leaves alternate, ovate and long petiolate. Sepals and petal shortly fused at base. Filament and style fused at base. Stamens 1, staminode one green and nectariferous. Petals laciniate white with red markings..
