Rush 60 cm tall. Tepals dark brown. Anthers yellow.
Open Pinus and Quercus forest. Growing at stream edge with Stellaria.

Identification Notes: Verified with Kirschner, J. (2002) Species plantarum : flora of the world. Part 8, Juncaceae. 2, Juncus subg. Juncus. Section Ozophyllum. Rhizomatous perennial. Leaves laterally compressed. Stamens 6, anthers shorter than filaments. Pair of floral bracteoles absent. Seeds without appendages. Inflorescence terminal, racemose with 10-30 distinct flower heads. Inner and outer tepals equal in length, acute. Style <1mm long.
