Notes: Verified with Flora of Australia vol. 49. Oceanic Islands. Leaves entire to lyrate. Flowers solitary, pedicels shorter then the leaves. Epicalyx of 7 ovate and spreading lobes. Calyx tubular, stellate hairy and with triangular lobes. Corolla yellow, red at base and recurved at the apex. Staminal column long, twisted with apical acute lobes. Styles 5 spreading with long papillate stigmas. Ovary glabrous. Ovary with oil glands in the septa.

Field notes: This species is known to occur only on Philip Island (Australian Territory) where it's numbers are reduced to approximately 35 plants.
