Notes: Verified with the European Garden Flora vol. 5. Branches square in section, Leaves pseudo-opposite. Flowers solitary and axillary. Petals yellow to 4mm long, clawed at base and deciduous. Perigynous zone campanulate as long as wide, apex with horn like appendages. Fruit a 4 locular capsule. There are two species in Heimia H. salicifolia and myrtifolia , the two seems undistinguishable but H. myrtifolia seems to grow more in Brazil.
