Notes:Verified with Reyder, A. 'Synopsis of the Genus Lonicera' in Annual Reports of the Missouri Botanical Garden 14 (1903). Hardy, deciduous, shrubby Lonicera with juicy, blue-black fruits covered in whitish bloom. Fruits consisting of two free ovaries tightly enclosed by a cupula (ovaries appearing to be connate as a single fruit). Branchlets with solid white pith. Section Isika, subsection Coeruleae.
