Campanulaceae
Campanula celsii A.DC. subsp. complex

Verified by: Temperate sect. 10 July 2014
Notes: Verified with Flora Europaea vol. Subgenus Campanula sect. Campanula. Basal leaves withered. Stem diffuse, trailing and soft hairy. flowers solitary, axillary. Corolla tubular to 30mm long (tube 20mm long), purple. Calyx appendages longer than the ovary, ovate. Calyx teeth triangular, acuminate. Styles 5, ovary 5-locular. Submitted as C. celsii but this is said to have very short calyx appendages. This key out as C. lavrensis because of the large ovate calyx appendages but it seems to be all part of the C. celsii complex of species possibly not possible to differentiate in cultivation and this may have hybridised with neighboring accessions of the same specioes complex. Need to see 1975-2928 C. lavrensis in flower to compare.
